Assembly/Disassembly:
- To assemble the Lighted Forceps for Foreign Body Removal, insert the end of the forceps into the light source by aligning the pegs with the grooves inside the light source. Push down and twist FIRMLY clockwise until rotation stops. This will lock the forceps into place and activate the light. NOTE: This product is a spring-loaded device; improper assembly may cause ejection of the forceps tip.
- To attach the magnification lens, snap the lens onto the neck of the light source so that the top of the lens angles towards the forceps tip.
- To disassemble, push down on the forceps and rotate counter clockwise to remove the forceps from the light source. The light will go off when the forceps are removed.
Instructions for Foreign Body Removal
- Examine the ear or nose to determine the location of the foreign body.
- Assemble the Lighted Forceps for Foreign Body Removal according to instructions.
- Insert the Lighted Forceps tip until it reaches the foreign body. Once there, squeeze the spring grip to grasp the object and gently pull from the orifice.
- Repeat the exam and determine location of any remaining part of the foreign body.
- Repeat the procedure until foreign body is removed.
- Remove and dispose of the single-use forceps.
