These devices are primarily adjustable medical positioning aids for the Operating Room, but they can also be used for non-surgical applications - high quality and cost effective reusable and inflatable positioning aids.

They offer efficient storage in the OR, and are reusable and latex-free. A three-way stopcock allows inflation, deflation, and air retention for both devices.

The Shoulder-Float™

During an epidural anesthesia procedure, performed in a lateral decubitus position, the patient is partially aware and is sensitive to the discomfort in his shoulder. The first product developed, a pneumatic axillary support cushion, provides even weight distribution of the patient on the operating table during surgery. The adjustable inflation system brings dramatic improvement for the comfort of the patient. The device is adjustable during surgery which allows the anesthesiologist to regularly reassess and react to the patients' needs. Unlike static roll pads, the Shoulder-Float evolves to meeting changing pressure on the brachial plexus and axillary artery, assuring adequate decompression at all times. Many doctors strongly believe that the use of this inflatable axillary support is perfect for the prevention of ischemia and nerve damage in or near the shoulders in a lateral decubitus position. The inflatable axillary suport is to be used during Total Hip Replacement, Shoulder Arthroscopy, Thoracotomy, Kidney Surgery, and other lengthy procedures.

The Pelvic-Tilt™

In obstetrics, it is desirable to lift the right hip of a patient between 20 to 40 degrees. This inclination promotes uterine displacement, useful in all Cesarean Sections and deliveries in the supine position. The uterus tends to compress the vena cava and/or aorta (the so-called aorto-caval compression syndrome), impairing blood flow to the fetus. This inflatable and adjustable "pillow" is placed under one hip during Cesariean section. By inflating or deflating the pillow at any time during the procedure, the hip can be raised or lowered. The angle of rotation (or tilt) can then be adjusted. This device is also useful during kidney surgery and surgery on the side of the leg and ankle. This device has a non-inflated flap extending from one side. The flap is placed under one of the patient's hips while the inflatable portion is placed under the other hip. The weight of the patient on the flap prevents the lateral shifting of the pillow.
